Cases in Rehabilitation

The Sonoma CHANGE Program is a community based, 501(c)3 non-profit organization that assists  the Sonoma County Animal Care and Control Department with equine abuse, abandonment, and neglect cases.

The CHANGE Program helps horses connected to Animal Control cases with services such as transportation, foster housing, veterinary care, rehabilitation and adoption.

Due to pending legal or criminal matters, the identity of some horses must remain private. This means that CHANGE sometimes has horses in foster care that cannot appear on the website. Please check back periodically for changes, or find us on Facebook for the latest news.

There are no horses currently in rehabilitation. Please check back again. Find us on Facebook for the latest photos, updates, and events! For information on horse adoption, please visit Available for Adoption.

The Sonoma County CHANGE Program is a State and Federally accredited 501c(3) organization (EIN 26-2135318) that has been helping horses in Sonoma County since 2007. CHANGE assists the Sonoma County Animal Care and Control Department with equine humane cases by providing 24/7 on-call equine transport, foster and rehabilitative care, and adoption services for horses in Animal Control custody. In addition, CHANGE provides training to Animal Control officers on a wide variety of equine related subjects. All of the community members who participate in the program do so on a 100% volunteer basis, and the organization relies completely on donations. All donations are used to help horses in custody.
