Argus

Argus was a heroic Thoroughbred gelding who was forced to spend over 16 years locked in a stall at the hands of a notorious animal hoarder. He was among six horses that CHANGE removed from a dilapidated Penngrove property. He suffered immeasurably during his imprisonment at the hands of his abusive owner. But his existence turned to living when he was adopted. Over several years, Argus learned how to be a horse, despite an arduous battle against physical pain, illness, agoraphobia, and a fundamental misunderstanding of that human beings could play in his life. He taught all of us an incredible lesson about the capacity, will, and spirit of horses. Read his story here: From Hell to Heaven: Saving Argus.
