UPDATE May, 2024: Congratulations to Caryn and Emma!!  It was love at first sight for both of you!!!  We are so happy that you two found each other!!!

Emma came into the CHANGE Program on March 22, 2024 when she was seized, along with Tate, by Sonoma County Animal Services due to neglect. She was severely underweight and had extensive rain rot.  She was approximately 5 years old.

She spent some weeks gaining weight and healing from the rain rot at an amazing foster barn who was willing to find room for Emma with an hour’s notice.  After receiving dental care, vaccinations, worming, a course of ulcergard and farrier care, we entrusted Emma with a local trainer, Caryn Hoeflein at Sky High Ranch.

Caryn knew the task at hand….prepare Emma for adoption, but it was obvious to everyone, especially Emma and Caryn, that theirs was an instant connection!  While Caryn tried to talk herself out of another horse, over the course of the next few weeks, Emma sealed the deal by proving herself smart, willing and possessing an undeniably charming personality!  It’s amazing how sometimes things just seem to line up!  Emma was meant to be with Caryn, and we couldn’t be happier for them both!
