June

---------------------------------

June came into the CHANGE Program on February 22, 2026. She came from a situation where she had been tethered and Animal Control became aware of her situation after a private citizen had seen her tangled in her rope which was tight enough to restrict her airway. Thanks to this concerned citizen who's call most likely saved her life, June found her way to the CHANGE Program. She arrived in our care quite scared but incredibly brave and kind. Her feet were terribly overgrown and she was very lame. She also had obvious dental issues.

Since coming into the CHANGE Program, June received extensive dental care which has helped her tremendously. It was also discovered after taking radiographs that she has a fractured coffin bone. She's been shod with bar shoes which has provided enough comfort that she now shows almost no sign of lameness.

In addition to gaining weight, the bloom on her coat is reflective of her return to health. Most notably, June's personality has blossomed as she's come to trust the people around her. She is always "up", always happy and is clearly in pleasant disbelief that she is no longer tethered by a rope and is free to move about her paddock and shelter at will.

June is still in rehab as she's still recovering from her fractured coffin bone, but she will be available for adoption soon. She is approximately 14.2 hands and around 20 years old.

You won't find a more kind, gentle and joyful horse than June. Please consider adopting June.
