As if we didn’t love Sugar enough, she’s proven to be quite a fancy little riding horse! She is well started, though still green, and will require quiet, sensible miles. She continues to impress us with her calm, willing temperament and sunny outlook. Someone is going to get a horse of a lifetime.

Update: 8/11/16
Sugar has blossomed into a beautiful and charming young lady. We have ridden her, and determined that she has some good basic training and would be considered green broke. She went on a field trip to Dressage In The Wine Country, and greeted her fans and all the festivities with the same calm and friendly demeanor she's shown about everything. Another bonus? We discovered she LOVES kids. She's ready to become a permanent and loving part of your family.
Update 6/28/16 Sugar is a 4-5yo Quarter Horse-type mare who is looking for a forever home. Sugar was found running on a busy road in Santa Rosa on May 15, 2016. She was dragging a large birdcage and had galloped for over a mile by the time she was caught. The mare had cuts and scrapes and was very sore after her ordeal. Sonoma County Animal Services requested assistance from CHANGE, which provided the mare with emergency transport, veterinary care, and TLC in a CHANGE foster barn. Despite her experience, Sugar is a sweet, gentle mare who has proven to be easy going in all situations. She recently attended Dressage In The Wine Country and was calm and unflappable and loved meeting everybody who stopped by. She seems to have a particular love and fascination for kids, so would love a family looking to give her a forever home. Though she still has some residual soreness from her ordeal, she is expected to make a complete recovery. Everybody who meets this special girl falls madly in love with her, won’t you make her part of your family?
